Highlights of this wildlife journey safari to far East Gippsland:

Mammals: Platypus (Ornithorhychus anatinus), Echidna (Tachyglossus aculeatus), Long-nosed Bandicoot (Perameles nasuta) as well as three species of macropod, Koala and Grey-headed Flying-fox (Pteropus poliocephalus).

Reptiles Eastern Blue-tongue (Tiliqua scincoides) and Gippsland Water Dragon (Intellagama lesueurii howittii)

Birds: Powerful Owl (Ninox strenua) Wedge-tailed Eagle (Aquila audax), White-bellied Sea-eagle (Haliaeetus leucogaster), Hooded Plover (Thinornis cucullatus), Sooty Oystercatcher (Haematopus fuliginosus), Freckled Duck (Stictonetta naevosa) Bassian Thrush (Zoothera lunulata) and Pallid Cuckoo (Cacomantis pallidus). 10 species of parrot/cockatoo including Yellow-tailed Black-Cockatoo (Calyptorhynchus funereus) and Gang-gang (Callocephalon fimbriatum) and Common Sandpiper (Actitis hypoleucos) which despite the name is not a very common sighting down here.
