Wildlife Journey 26 to 29 November 2017

Highlights of this journey to far East Gippsland:  lots of reptiles – including Goanna (Lace Monitor Varanus varius), Eastern Long-necked Turtle (Chelodina longicollis), Black Rock Skink (Egernia saxatilis), Yellow-bellied Water Skink (Eulamprus heatwolei), Delicate Skink (Lampropholis delicata), Jacky Lizard (Amphibolurus muricatus), Gippsland Water Dragon (Intellagama lesueurii howittii) – and mammals: Platypus (Ornithorhychus anatinus), Echidna (Tachyglossus aculeatus), Bare-nosed Wombat (Vombatus ursinus). Plus 140 species of birds including White-throated Gerygone (Gerygone olivacea), Cicadabird (Coracina tenuirostris), Sanderling (Calidris alba), Tawny Frogmouth (Podargus strigoides), Australasian Figbird (Sphecotheres vieilloti),  Powerful Owl (Ninox strenua) and Freckled Duck (Stictonetta naevosa).
